Regatta Days
The regatta days still prove to be as popular as ever, with everyone involved getting the chance to expose the competitive side of their nature in a friendly and relaxed environment. The events take place onboard a fleet of matched 35 - 54 foot cruising or racing yachts, they are very fast, very exciting but also very easy and comfortable to sail. Guests can get as involved as they wish, having the chance to helm the yachts, trim the sails, grind the winches or maybe, and most importantly… just sit back and relax!

- 0900-0930
- Guests arrive at Spinnaker Tower in Gunwharf Quays for a continental Breakfast;
the skippers are introduced; the plan for the day and safety are covered
in a briefing by Marine Events. A Private viewing of all three levels
of the Towere was arranged before boarding the yachts.
A regatta brief is given on the observation deck 170 metres above the water, familiarizing all guests with the basics of how a yacht regatta works. Guests are then split into their teams, (usually by the company hosting the event… due to company politics!!!) - 1000-1015
- The boats will depart the dock. The morning gives everyone the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the yachts and perfect their own jobs in preparation for the afternoons races.
- 1230-1300
- Lunch is usually taken with all the boats rafted together in a quiet bay. On this occasion lunch was taken at the Seaview Yacht Club on the Isle of wight where a three course lunch was provided in a private dinning room on the second floor overlooking the Solent.
- 1430
- After lunch and maybe a final team talk, the yachts head out into the Solent for a series of short races. They are very relaxed, very informal and yet still very competitive!
- 1700-1715
- Afternoon tea and cakes are served in the comfort of the RSYC after which a short presentation is made to the winning team.
- 1730-1800
